KSWCD MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the Kona Soil and Water Conservation District is to encourage:
Through education and working with federal, state and county agencies, the district shall cooperate with and assist managers of public lands, ranches and farms in North and South Kona Districts; in addition the KSWCD shall promote and encourage research, and dissemination of information to achieve the above.

MONTHLY BOARD MEETINGS
The Kona Soil and Water Conservation District (KSWCD) Monthly Board Meeting is held every third Thursday of the month at 8:00am. Interested individuals are invited to join us at the meetings.
Considering the evolving COVID-19 situation, protecting the health and welfare of the community is of utmost concern. As such, the meeting will be held with remote options, with board members, staff and applicants participating via an optional online meeting venue.
The meeting date for the month may change if unforeseen circumstances arise.

Hawai'i STATE SUNSHINE LAW
As a subdivision of the State, the Kona SWCD operates according to the State of Hawai'i’s Sunshine Law. The Sunshine Law is Hawai'i’s open meetings law. It governs the way all state and county boards must conduct their official business. The Sunshine Law is codified at part I of chapter 92, Hawai'i Revised Statutes.

WORK PLANS
DISTRICT ANNUAL WORK PLAN, LONG RANGE PLAN AND RCPP
Each year through its Annual Work Plan and every five years through its Long Range Plan (LRP), the KSWCD board of supervisors seek feedback from partners and the public and develop Work Plan documents, which serve as guidance to staff in carrying out natural resource priorities.
